The Tillypad XL hospitality management system has been installed in the restaurant complex "Valenki" in Kaliningrad, a Russian city in the center of Europe."Valenki" is a facility of unusual format combining bistro and restaurant. Its basic system is "All inclusive". Having paid a fixed fee at the entrance, customers can stay here as long as they wish and eat any number of presented dishes of Russian and European cuisines. The amount of the entrance fee depends only on the time of the day and day of the week. In the evening visitors are also offered a variety of wines and beers. The second floor offers a classic catering for a larger fee, in which alcoholic beverages are included during the daytime as well.The unusual format of the complex required a management system with many features. Therefore, the owners opted for Tillypad XL system, which has already been successfully introduced into another one of their projects a few years ago - a trattoria "Venice".There were two key objectives that the MBR specialists, involved into the automation of "Valenki" complex, had to achieve. First, it was necessary to provide automatic entry fee rate depending on the time of the day, day of the week and the zone of the visit - bistro or restaurant. Second, given the zoning of the complex, it was necessary to find a solution for controlling which zones are visited by a guest.Tillypad XL allowed to easily set up the necessary entry fee charging system and stocktaking. The accountant of the establishment notes high accuracy of accounting for both parts of the outlet. The issue of visitors movements control has also been solved successfully. At the entrance, after having paid the entrance fee, guests receive a contactless card that keeps record of their transitions from floor to floor. In the aisles between the zones MBR installed card detectors and video cameras recording every guest. If the transition is not authorized, the administration gets a message and the video surveillance records of the incident.Roman Golovanov, the owner of the restaurant complex "Valenki", says: "Thanks to the Tillypad XL system, we were able to embody our idea of the restaurant complex in an original format. The bistro is a great alternative to a business lunch, while the second floor is popular as a traditional restaurant and as a convenient place for banquets and corporate events. The usual accounting system is used in the restaurant, while in the bistro thanks to Tillypad XL we have implemented the “buffet” principle at the bar and in the kitchen".
